Carle Place is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Carle Place follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. Delicious fresh sushi and exceptional service. The restaurant has an authentic Japanese vibe and tasty menu of options. We very much enjoyed our meal and will be returning again soon!

Moving into the area two years ago and finding this place was a gem. It was a relief to know that there is a quality Japanese restaurant right near by, when, Japanese food was such a staple when I lived in the city. Used to go dine in person at the restaurant with my wife frequently until we couldn’t go as much due to having a 👶. *Sushi AND Sashimi Omakase for Two* have always been our go-to + Ika Geso or Takoyaki or Hokkaido croquette. Every now and then I would get curry katsu just for myself for an amazing treat. In any case- ordered the takeout because we missed our sushi. Was pleasantly surprised that it’s still our local favorite. Sashimis were fresh and the rolls and nigiri’s were as enjoyable as we remembered. It was also a massive plus that the baby slept through while we enjoyed this, so while that could be our bias, we want to give credit where it’s due, as this sushi joint has been consistently excellent for us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Living in Long Island for 30+ years and never knew there was a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant near the Roosevelt Field shopping Center. Made a reservation for 8pm and were seated immediately upon arrival. Warmly greeted and seated, we ordered 2 of the chef's choice omakase boxes and 2 sushi sashimi combos. All the fish was fresh, flavorful and higher than average quality. We met the owner, Mr. Kay and shared conversation about Japan. The staff was warm and personable. We enjoyed our dinner thoroughly and will be back for the miso black cod and hamachi kama next time. Dinner for 4, no drinks, about $200 all in, more than fair, about 35% less than the same experience in Manhattan. Looking forward to coming back, just to see Mr. K., oh and the sushi is great too.

Koiso is hands down, the best Japanese restaurant on Long Island. Very authentic. The owners, Boo and Kay take care of you from beginning to end. José, in the back of the house, is amazing. You must try the black miso cod and the eggplant special! The passion roll is my favorite! The sushi is SO fresh! I'm obsessed with Koiso!

We went to this place on a Friday right when they opened. We tried the tatami seating. I found it comfortable. You will have to take off your shoes so make sure you don’t have holes in your socks. We ordered the Tuna Tataki, Omasake sushi dinner and the unagi Don. All the seafood was fresh tasting. Portions were large. If I ordered the Unagi Don at another restaurant I would get two pieces of eel and a bowl of rice for $20. Here I got four pieces of eel and twice the rice for $27. Everything was great and would go back.
